Does Barbara Palvin Still Make Money From Victoria's Secret After They Canceled The Angels?

At one time in the past, two main modeling gigs were the cream of the crop for the biggest female models. During that era, it seemed like every successful model wanted to appear in the pages of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and they wanted to be named a Victoria's Secret Angel.

Since the height of the Victoria's Secret Angels advertising campaign, the company decided to abandon that branding. Since that news broke, some people have asked why the Angels were canceled while suggesting Megan Rapinoe And Victoria's Secret's other new models may have ruined the company.

No matter why the Victoria's Secret Angels are gone and how good or bad that decision was, the fact remains that the company has moved on. While some observers were very upset with that development, it seems very likely it was a huge blow for the people who were previously named Angels.

Since being an Angel was such a high-profile gig in the past, the models who no longer work with Victoria's Secret have missed out on garnering a lot of attention. On top of that, now that the Angels are no more, that has observers wondering if former Victoria's Secret models like Barbara Palvin are no longer making money from the company.

How Much Money Barbara Palvin Make From Her Victoria's Secret Angel Past?

In the past, it was such a big deal for a model to be named a Victoria's Secret Angel that there was an announcement when Barbara Palvin got her wings. On top of the company's announcement, Palvin responded to the news in a joyous Instagram post.

"I never thought it would happen and it has exceeded all my expectations. I’m very excited to announce that I’m officially a @victoriassecret ANGEL !" Palvin wrote, "Thank you for believing in me."

"There were times where I let my own thoughts hold me back and it was a hard climb away from those but my family , my team, Ed, and everyone at VS they were always there to support me and uplift me." Palvin continued, "I am proud to represent Hungary, and most importantly, all of you in this new chapter of my life! Thank you all so much again"

Unfortunately for Palvin, things didn't always go so smoothly for the famous model during her Victoria's Secret tenure. In fact, Palvin got a lot of heat from Selena Gomez fans and some people even labeled her the most hated Victoria's Secret model at the time.

On the bright side for the Hungarian model, there is no doubt that her Victoria's Secret tenure was very financially rewarding for her despite the controversies.

Unsurprisingly, Victoria's Secret never put out exact salary information about how much they paid each of their Angels. On top of that, Palvin has never released an itemized accounting of her finances. For those reasons, there is no way to know for sure exactly how much Palvin was paid for being a Victoria's Secret Angel.

While the exact amount that Palvin was paid by Victoria's Secret is a mystery, that doesn't mean it is impossible to have some kind of idea about how much she likely received from the company. After all, there have been some reports claiming to know how much Victoria's Secret models made.

According to a Showbiz Central article which cites the blog Complete Payroll, the average Victoria's Secret model was paid between $100,000 and $1,000,000 a year by the company.

While neither of those websites are the most credible, that does seem like a pretty good indication of the kind of money that Victoria's Secret models used to be paid.

On top of that, the article points out that Victoria's Secret's most famous and experienced models, like the Angels, could receive significantly more. Based on that report, it seems very likely that when Palvin was an Angel, she was paid hundreds of thousands, if not into the seven figures.

Does Victoria's Secret Still Pay Barbara Palvin Now That She Isn't An Angel?

When Victoria's Secret announced that it was getting away from its long-standing Angels branding, it was the end of an era. After all, that meant that no other models could don the wings the way that so many supermodels have in the past like Gisele Bündchen, Heidi Klum, Helena Christensen, and Stephanie Seymour.

Putting aside whether more women would get the chance to don Victoria's Secret Angel Wings, it seemed like the top models would also struggle to become as rich as people like Klum. After all, there is no doubt that many of the richest models from the '90s made a lot of money as Victoria's Secret Angels.

After the Angels were shown the door, Victoria's Secret seemed to be moving away from models completely. At that time, the company hired Megan Rapinoe, Priyanka Chopra, Eileen Gu, Eileen Gu, Amanda de Cadenet, Valentina Sampaio, Adut Akech, and Paloma Elsesser as the faces of their new campaign.

In some ways, Barbara Palvin has a lot in common with women like Megan Rapinoe, Priyanka Chopra, and the other people that Victoria's Secret hired. After all, Palvin and the people who Victoria's Secret hired at that time have all led incredible lives.

That said, many people thought that Victoria's Secret taking their brand in a new direction meant they wouldn't want to work with any of the models who were angels in the past. If that turned out to be the case, that would mean that Palvin's time being paid by Victoria's Secret almost certainly was over.

In the months that immediately followed Victoria's Secret taking their branding in a new direction, it seemed like Palvin's time working with the company was permanently over. Then, in early-2023 it became clear that wasn't the case much to the surprise of many observers.

In a January 2023 Instagram post that featured several professional photos, Palvin could be seen modeling Victoria's Secret pieces. Following that post, the Daily Mail published an article that revealed that the photos were taken for a Victoria's Secret campaign that was coming out at that time.

Given that Palvin and Victoria's Secret worked together after the Angels branding ended, she clearly continues to make money from the company. It also seems very possible that her relationship with Victoria's Secret may grow more in the future.
