The pair tied the knot in a lavish ceremony held in Italy in 2014, but after eight years of marriage, Kim made it no secret that she wanted out of the relationship, having cited “irreconcilable differences” in her divorce filing. Since then, there have been many changes surrounding Kanye’s personal and private life.
For once, the Stronger rapper legally changed his name to Ye and began dating socialite Julia Fox, with whom he was in a relationship with for just under two months. Another major change was Mr. West’s decision to start sporting ski masks in public, though it’s unclear what the choice of accessory is supposed to be an indication of.

Did Kanye West Alter His Face?
In October 2021, Kanye returned to Instagram as he showed off his new haircut with a very complex pattern. The photo was captioned a simple “¥,” which is the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan symbol. There wasn’t much explanation for the bizarre haircut, but given that it’s Kanye, people weren’t going to speculate on it either. The Good Life rapper is known for practically doing whatever he wants.
Then, also in October, the father-of-four began to wear masks in public — and we’re not talking about the face masks we’ve all been wearing throughout the pandemic.
Kanye opted for a Michael Myers-inspired mask as fans spotted him making his arrival in Berlin, Germany. Despite the unique look, photographers were still able to recognize the Grammy award winner, and once the photos surfaced on social media, fans began to speculate what Ye was hiding underneath his mask.
In late October, it was claimed that the reason behind Kanye’s decision to start wearing masks was simply because he wanted privacy, which is rather ironic since the rapper is probably the only celebrity sporting a handful of masks to try and disguise himself, which hasn’t really been working all that well for him.
During a meeting with former Donald Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, Kanye wore yet another interesting mask as he strolled through the streets of the Big Apple, en route for his get-together with the famous attorney.
Speaking of his encounter with the superstar, Michael later told Page Six: “The purpose [of the mask] was so that people would not recognize him … the first 10 minutes we sat down, he was mobbed by people … who wanted photos and to say hello.
“So he put on this mask to give him some anonymity, which interestingly enough, did not really work.
Has Kanye Worn Face Masks Before?
Not as often as of late, but during his concert at the London Film Festival in 2014, Kanye was sporting a face mask during his performance too.
He stopped his show to give his fans a speech, explaining why he was wearing the interesting piece of attire, saying: “Don’t embarrass yourself trying to chase your dreams. Save face. Save face. That’s why I got this mask on, because I ain’t worried about saving face. F*** my face," he told the crowd during the concert.
“Whatever my face is supposed to mean and whatever the name Kanye is supposed to mean, it’s about my dreams! And it’s about anybody’s dreams. It’s about creating. It’s not about the idea about being a celebrity.”
