Bachelor In Paradise's Bartender Wells Adams Has Very Mixed Feelings About His Role On The Show And

While the hosts and cast members on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette get all the attention, bartender Wells Adams is a memorable part of Bachelor In Paradise... but do fans actually like him? Most people know Wells Adams as Sarah Hyland's husband, and the two tied the knot in 2022 after delaying because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The bartender is definitely one of the most important people on Bachelor In Paradise given the fact that the drinks are always flowing almost as much as the drama. Although Wells Adams has had this role since season 4, that doesn't mean, of course, that viewers all agree that he should continue. What does Bachelor In Paradise's fanbase really think about Wells Adams?

Do Bachelor In Paradise Fans Like Bartender Wells Adams?

There is a sweet story of Wells Adams asking Julie Bowen about marrying Sarah Hyland. And besides being romantically involved with a famous actress who starred as Haley Dunphy on the sitcom Modern Family for all 11 seasons, Wells Adams has been on TV, too. He was actually a cast member on some of The Bachelor's spin-offs before he was a bartender.

After he was on The Bachelorette's 12th season, he was in Bachelor In Paradise season 3 and then hired to make everyone drinks.

Fans discuss Wells Adams on Reddit on a fairly regular basis, and many feel that he has changed and isn't as fun to watch as he once was.

One fan wrote, "I've been watching BIP for years and Wells has always been the supportive voice of reason on the beach. This season he has been in my opinion unlikeable. Clearly bias and a try hard with trying to be funny. Where did the sweet Wells go?"

One fan replied, "Ever since he became the bartender he just seems mean spirited." Another said, "The thing I find the worst is that he really isn’t even funny."

Another Bachelor In Paradise fan thinks that Adams makes fun of people too much and that he doesn't seem different enough from the contestants, which was what originally drew them to him. They wrote on Reddit, "I liked him because he was kind of a nerdy underdog when he came on the scene and he was different than the standard ripped jock bachelor, but now he’s the one punching down and it’s not a good look."

However, Bachelor In Paradise fans seem pretty split on whether they like Wells Adams. While there are many who don't think that he's hilarious or who think that he sounds full of himself now that he's famous, others don't see him that way at all.

Many say that he has a certain quality that makes them feel as if they could be pals with him and actually spend time with him IRL.

One fan wrote in another Reddit thread about Wells Adams that they can see why some people don't love him, but they can't help but like his personality. They wrote, "He's definitely bought into his own hype and can be obnoxious, but I do still like Wells quite a bit. I just find him funny and charismatic and he has great taste in music." Another viewer replied, "Wells is everyone's best friend,"

Whether fans appreciate Adams's humor or want someone else to be the bartender, it makes sense that the reality spin-off is wildly popular. While the premise of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette has been criticized by some, they are both still hit shows, but there's something especially entertaining about watching people try to find love while on vacation.

The tropical location makes the drama feel that much more interesting. And since fans get to see people who were once on the original shows, that familiarity makes it a must-watch.

Does Wells Adams Like Being The Bartender On Bachelor In Paradise?

In November 2022, Wells Adams posted a photo of himself from Bachelor In Paradise and talked about the eighth season wrapping up. He mentioned that it can be tough to be a contestant on any of The Bachelor shows because they immediately become famous and strangers feel that they can say anything that they want to them.

Adams wrote in the caption of his Instagram photo, "First, I’d like to thank the cast for being so honest, vulnerable, hilarious, and real. It’s not easy to share so much of yourself with millions of people on national television. Please remember that when you comment on their pictures or send them DM’s. They are all real people with real feelings and I love them all."

After being the bartender for several seasons, Wells Adams was made a guest host in season 7, and was also the rose ceremony master. This was a well-publicized time in The Bachelor universe as, according to E! News, Chris Harrison was let go from the reality franchise.

In an interview with E! News in 2021, Adams shared how he felt about this change in his reality show career.

Adams said, "It was a lot, I have to be honest with you. It was really fun, but I'm really good at just giving advice to people at the bar and just telling people how I really feel...Going from, like, silly Wells to serious Wells was harder than I thought it was going to be."

It sounds like he enjoys being the bartender as he can joke around a lot and talk to the contestants about the things that they're going through. And being the guest host does require a more formal, different skill set.

Prior to season 8 of Bachelor In Paradise filming, Adams was interviewed by People and he said that he thinks that the reality spin-off should receive Emmy recognition.

He told People, "The fact we have haven't won an Emmy is travesty in our time. In ours or any other generation, how they don't win Emmy's is ridiculous."

In the same interview with People, he shared that he was a huge fan of season 8 and thought that it was the greatest of the entire series. He sounded very positive when discussing the show, which suggests that even if some fans aren't sure about his time as bartender, he is always happy to star on the series and most likely has no plans to stop.
